Former Soap Writers Premiere Season 2 of Their Hit Podcast!

When the soap opera genre began, in 1930, the shows that aired were 15 minutes, and on radio. Flash forward 89 years later and every soap opera except for The Bold and the Beautiful is 37 minutes an episode and all of them are on television. However, when the soaps were on radio, fans could dream up their own worlds. They could imagine what the settings and characters looked like. Of course, now-a-days, the imagination is no longer left to viewers. Early last year, however, Tom Casiello and David Kriezman changed all of that for soap opera fans.

The two Daytime Emmy winning writers created a series called Six Minutes. When Six Minutes debuted, fans of soaps (and interesting shows in general) got back some of their creative thinking when it comes to the intricate stories of this year old series.

Six Minutes centers around 11 year old Holiday who is searching for the truth of who she is after she is pulled out of the icy Alaskan waters. The series, now in its second season, and on its 101st episode, has pulled in over 1,600 ratings on iTUNES. And, it currently holds 4.5/5 stars on the streaming service.

I recently got to talk to Tom Casiello about what the show means to he and his team. And, I also got a little insight on what it meant to hit 100 episodes at the end of season 1!

TOM CASIELLO: "When David Kreizman, who I've known for about 15 years, and his partners at Gen-Z Media, Chris Tarry and Ben Strouse, contacted me in 2017 with an idea for a story about a girl found in the water with no memory and mysterious abilities, I had no idea the journey I was about to go on. We've been exploring Holiday's world with our amazing writing team of Marla Kanelos and Nidhi Mehta (both of whom have long careers in daytime as well), and together, we wrote the first hundred episodes before episode 1 even went live! It's been an absolute joy and privilege to go on this coming-of-age tale with them, and the Anders kids. From suspecting their parents (what 13 year old DIDN'T think their parents were evil at some point?!), to spies in the school, from Cyrus' first kiss to Brynleigh finding a brother to breaking into (and out of) WhitterCorp, we've been able to explore what it means to be a family...whether related by blood or not. After the vents of our double-sized 100th episode, our world is about to expand outside of Juneau, Alaska. Attentive listeners learned a HUGE secret from Holiday's flashback in episode 93, that was later confirmed by Angelica Graves in the final showdown at their house. Their search for the truth behind that shocking revelation will take them to parts of the world they never expected, and yes, they will find out who Holiday is and where she came from. I promise, and it might be sooner than you think! But, the real surprise is when that shocking reveal happens, the Anders family will be in a whole other world of trouble!"

With that preview in mind, one can see that things are only going to get soapier from here on out! And, we here at Daytime Indulgence don't want you to miss a moment! If you like mystery, comedy, romance, friendship, and non-stop shockers, then you have to check out this series!

After all, it's one hell of a six minute ride!
