Soap Star Peggy McCay Has Passed Away!

For over 60 years, Peggy McCay entertained millions of people on the stage, in memorable films, and most notably on daytime soap operas. McCay began her acting career in 1949. She enjoyed much success in her early career before joining the soap opera Love of Life in 1951 (where she played Vanessa Dale). McCay would depart Love of Life after four years. She wouldn't pop up in the soap world again until 1964, when she landed the role of Iris Fairchild on ABC's The Young Marrieds. After the series went off the air, McCay and her character were written into ABC's other soap opera, General Hospital.

Even though McCay racked more than 100 credits to her name, she is most remembered as Caroline "Ma" Brady on NBC's Days of Our Lives. Peggy joined the series in the year of 1983 and was last seen on the show in 2016. Her role on NBC's last remaining soap opera earned her six Daytime Emmy nominations.

Peggy McCay passed away from natural causes. She was 90 years old.

After her departure, fans tried to keep up with the beloved star.

She will be greatly missed.
