Following what appears to be the permanent cancellation of the soap opera One Life To Live in 2013, the legendary Erika Slezak took a break from television. For over four decades, the six time Emmy winning actress brought the daily trials and tribulations of the fictional Victoria Lord Gordon, Riley, Burke, Riley, Buchanan, Buchanan, Carpenter, Davidson, Banks to the small screen. Fans fell in love with the daytime icon. And, they were saddened upon the news of her going into some form of retirement after the sudser left the soap world.

But, the sadness ended when soap fans rejoiced the return of Slezak to television! A couple of months ago, word came that Slezak would return to TV in a guest star role on FOX’s new medical drama The Resident! But, just how much did soap fans rejoice in the return? Well, the latest ratings for the show are out! And, they are quite good. 4.30 million people watched Slezak’s return to television. And, this put The Resident at its highest ratings in five weeks!

Here’s to hoping Erika Slezak books more roles...perhaps she can ink a new deal on one of the four remaining soaps!

  1. General Hospital! Erica Slezak is an awesome actress. I didn't watch The Resident because I didn't know she would be on. She could easily replace Leslie Charleson as Monica! And she could join her old cast mates from One Life to Live. I absolutely love her and loved the character of Vicky for all those years

  2. If this generated a big audience for the show, think what would happen if ABC brought back our soaps!!!
