For over 25 years, fans of NBC’s Days of Our Lives, have flocked to their screens to watch daytime legend Peggy McCay give out Emmy worthy performances. For years upon years now, McCay has been on contract status with the show. However, it appears that contract has expired. McCay was removed from the closing credits last week. The closing credits only showcase the name of actors on contract with the NBC serial.

Because of this removal, many fans took to Facebook, Twitter, and even Instagram. Fans are speculating if McCay is set to retire and exit the show. However, NBC and Corday Productions has yet to make an official statement. For now, it appears she is on a recurring basis with the sudser.

Peggy’s daytime career didn’t start on DAYS. From 1951 to 1955 she played the role of Vanessa Dale on CBS’ Love of Life.

Peggy McCay has been nominated for 5 Daytime Emmy Awards. These nominations all came from her role of Caroline on DAYS.

If McCay does exit, it will be quite the blow to NBC’s last remaining soap.
