EXCLUSIVE: HOW 'DAYS' WILL CHANGE POST-DENA HIGLEY

It is no secret that NBC’s legendary soap opera Days of Our Lives has made another head writing switch. They have recently let Dena Higley go and hired Ron Carlivati. The switch is said to be effective immediately. In the new issue of Soap Opera Digest, Executive Producer Ken Corday details what the immediate change will be like for the sudser.

KEN CORDAY: Ron will bring to the show things that the show hasn’t had for quite awhile. What he said to me is that he wants the show to make you laugh again and he wants the show to make you cry again and he wants the show to make you yearn for certain couples again as opposed to, ‘Why are you doing this? Why are you doing that?’ So, he’ll resolidify shortly after his tenure starts. We will see couples that I’m a big fan of and that I think the viewers are big fans of, as well.

Ron’s writing material/storylines are projected to begin airing in the summertime. There is no word on what’s in store for the residents of Salem. However, audiences have been made to believe that some exciting action will be taking place in the fictitious Midwestern town.

There is also no word yet on what Dena Higley will be up to in the future. But, she has posted on the social media site, FaceBook, that she is thinking of doing an online soap opera writing class. Soap fans have taken well to that possibility. Fans have also given Higley best-wishes on her career.
